Ileal interposition is a bariatric surgery method performed based on the small intestine. It is applied by changing the beginning (the proximal part) and ending parts of the small intestine and it is an operation that helps to solve both the weight problem and the diabetes disease. It is aimed to regulate insulin resistance (which is the disorder that occurs in the response to insulin hormone), and this is done by increasing insulin sensitivity.
