DHI Technique

DHI is one of the most preferred hair transplantation methods in recent years. The distinctive factor of this technique is the special pen-like medical instrument used during the hair transplantation process. Thanks to this medical pen, no incision is made on the skin surface. Therefore, the procedure is completed in a shorter time and the healing period is more comfortable compared to many other methods. As a result of this operation, a hairstyle that looks natural and aesthetic is obtained.
What is DHI?
DHI stands for "Direct Hair Implantation". The pen named “Choi” is used while collecting the hair follicle and transplanting them to the relevant site. That means, grafts are collected from the donor area with Choi. The donor area is a different part of the body from which the hair follicle will be taken. Graft refers to the site containing hairs and skin roots. The collected roots are placed into the hairless area with the help of the same pen.
DHI Technique
“How is hair transplantation done with DHI" and "Who is a suitable candidate for DHI" are quite common questions, in addition to "What is direct hair implantation". The doctor consults with the patient at the beginning. The aim of this is to get to know the patient better in the terms of medical and to confirm the patient's suitability for the procedure. After listening to the patient's expectations and complaints, the doctor examines them and requests some tests. He determines the transplantation site and donor area. After the doctor gives the necessary information, the hair transplant procedure is performed on the agreed date.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Hair follicles are collected from the donor area and placed into the bald or sparse scalp area. After collecting the hair follicles, there is no long waiting time, the procedures are performed one after the other. Since the operation takes less time, the results are more effective. In addition, thanks to the special fine tip structure of the pen, hair follicles are easily and smoothly planted on the scalp.
DHI Recovery Process
After the implantation is completed, the doctor bandages the relevant area. Although it is not possible to give a precise time, the operation is completed in an average of 7 to 12 hours. The number of hair follicles, the characteristics of the donor area, and the doctor's ability directly affect the duration of the procedure. From the 2nd day, the hair is washed. The first hair wash will be done by the doctor. Pain, tenderness, and bleeding are among the most common complications. Such side effects are normal and pass over time.
Thanks to the medical pen used in hair transplantation with DHI, hair follicle removal and transplantation operations are easily performed. The fact that there is no waiting time between the two procedures ensures that the hair follicles are transferred in a healthy way. Since the tissues are not damaged, the recovery time is shorter.
FAQ
The result of the DHI technique is permanent. The new hairs grow strongly. Of course, choosing the right hair care products and paying attention to personal care are recommended.
The body does not reject the hair follicle in the DHI treatment, just like in the FUE technique. Because the grafts are taken from the patient's own body, there is no waiting period between hair follicle removal and placement, and that prevents the occurrence of fair follicle damage.
DHI is preferred by both men and women. However, it can easily be said that it is a method preferred mostly by men. People who are experiencing hair loss due to various reasons (genetic factors, aging, drug side effects, etc.) are suitable candidates for DHI.
