Brow Lift Surgery

Brow lift is a surgical operation performed to give a younger appearance to the forehead and around the eyes. Also known as "Forehead lift".

The first signs of aging usually start around the eyes. The face gradually loses its elasticity. Lines on the forehead and sagging of the eyelids are seen. Those with drooping, low, or asymmetrical eyebrows may prefer eyebrow lifting surgery. In eye aesthetics, that especially eyelid surgery, is often applied together with brow lift.

Brow Lift Procedure

Brow lift surgery is performed under local anesthesia or sedation. If endoscopy is to be performed, general anesthesia is required then. With the indirect method, the incision is made inside the eyelid. Stretching upward is applied up to the level determined during the control. After the procedure is finished, the incision is closed with sutures.

In the brow lift operation with the direct method, an incision is made just above the eyebrow. This incision is a little deeper without touching the hair roots. By doing this, it's possible to hide the scars at the same time. After a certain amount of tissue is removed, the incision is closed with stitches and bandages.

In brow lift surgery performed with endoscopy, tiny incisions are made inside the hairy area. In this way, the eyebrows along with the entire forehead area are relaxed. It is fixed in its new position with the help of sutures or implants. It is stitched and closed then. In all of these methods, the patient can be discharged after a few hours of observation.

Brow Lift Surgery Recovery

After brow lift surgery, a bandage is applied to the patient's forehead to prevent swelling. A tiny tube may be inserted to drain excess blood and fluid from the surgical site. The patient should adhere to the precautions instructed by the doctor. These measures can be listed as follows: Keeping the head high, applying a cold compress, and avoiding heavy exercises. Some itching may be felt while the incisions heal. The bandages are removed in a few days, and the stitches are removed after one week.

Risks of Brow Lift Surgery

Scars, sensitive skin, asymmetry in the eyebrows, and some hair problems are among the main risks. Scars can be seen depending on the method preferred.
