Breast Lift

A breast lift defines a surgical operation that helps to reshape the breasts. Changing the shape affects the overall body image and loving the appearance of both the upper areas and the whole body raises a person's self-confidence. This procedure is applied in three steps. First, anesthesia is given to the patient. After that, excess skin is removed, and finally the relevant tissue is reshaped.
Why is Breast Lift Operation Done?
If you don’t like your nipple position or breast look in general, you may want to undergo this operation. Nipples that point downward and saggy breasts affect one’s self-image negatively. It is important to explain why breasts sag at that point.
Breasts lose their elasticity and form due to several reasons: Aging, pregnancy, genetics, breastfeeding, weight changes, and of course, gravity. For example, while you are pregnant, your breast tissue (ligaments) starts stretching. So, sagging may appear. Another factor is excess weight loss. Weight changes may cause breasts to stretch too. Breast lift applications improve the look by raising the position of the nipples and reducing skin loosing conditions.
Breast Lift Pre Operation Period
Before the operation, the surgeon listens to your complaints, examines your areolae, and reviews your medical background. He runs relevant medical tests. Mammogram and biopsy tests are done if it is needed. After explaining the process in detail, and if the doctor-patient agrees on all the factors, the operation date is determined.
Breast Lift Procedure

Breast lift operation methods vary according to what kind of breast lifting will be done. This also determines the location and the size of the incision. After making an incision, the plastic surgeon removes excess skin parts, reshapes the breast tissue, reduces areolae’s size, and shifts the nipple position. One of them or even all of them can be done however number of operations can affect the breast lift operation length and sessions. The incision lines are closed mostly with stitches and the operation zone is covered with a bandage. The patient is asked to wear a surgical bra.
Breast Lift Recovery Period
The operation takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. But operation type, number of surgeries, and patient’s health condition may affect the average time. After the operation, the patient can go home. Bruises, pain, and tenderness may be experienced but these side effects will go away in a short period of time (more or less a couple of weeks). For relieving the pain, the doctor prescribes painkillers. Bruises will heal in 2 weeks and numbness will go away in 5 to 6 weeks. The results can be seen immediately. But final results and full recovery take a little time.
FAQ
Basically, you should do what your plastic surgeon wants you to do. You should pause your daily activities for a while, you should not lift heavy objects or do not do difficult physical exercises. Your surgeon will tell you when you can go back to your normal life.
The results are long-lasting, but not permanent. As you become older, your skin loses its elasticity over time. However, the breast lift permanency period may change due to how you live your life. A healthy lifestyle will always come back to you as extra points.
If your breasts have sagged or lost their volume, if the direction of your nipple points downward, or if your breasts are not equal to each other, you may consider a breast lift procedure.
